Day 1.

3 Dec

So today is Friday, December 3rd and I am off to beautiful Palm Springs, California. I get the next week all to myself (well besides a couple thousand people attending the same seminar as myself). I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend an Anthony Robbins seminar “Date with Destiny.” It’s a 6 day seminar that breaks down all areas of one’s life to make them blossom and grow; in depth tools to manage life in a flourishing way!

This will be my first ever trip that I take with myself and only myself, to somewhere I’ve never been. I’m pretty excited =)

So anyways, I managed to make my suitcase >50lbs. That was exciting. I also flew threw security; I was anticipating an extra long line but it was pretty quick. I was plotting out my response to airport security if they told me I had to go through the new x-ray machines. Something about a stranger looking at the outlines of my body… yeah, not cool with that. On top of that, what about the man who was arrested after being found guilty for molestation of a minor?! Did I mention this man worked in Orlando International Airport for TSA? Somehow this picture seems a little right of center to me. On top of that, x-raying a stranger is a complete violation of our human, God-given rights… just saying. What gives them the right to take away our rights?! Nothing… in my mind.

My first flight was pretty good– four hours and some change, I read, slept, listened to music on my laptop until it died and ate! While waiting for my second flight in Phoenix on the way to Palm Springs, a man sat across from me talking to his wife. He was first telling her how she shouldn’t be taking on so much and she is overloading herself. He then proceeded to ask her to put “Bella” on the phone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt in thinking maybe that was his daughter… until he started speaking in “human-dog talk.” You know, the high pitched-sweet talk most of us have all done. “Hi Bella, be good for mommy! Who’s a good girl? Who’s a good girl?” Then his wife got back on the phone and he asked “did her little tail wag?” Yup, that gave it away.

So then I got on my flight and it was a little dinky thing with two seats per row per side. So go figure, I get to sit next to a man who took up close to half my seat along with his. No biggie though, he was super nice. I almost met a guy who before I got on my plane, that is also attending the seminar I am. It was a breath of fresh air to meet someone so I’m not totally alone in the seminar…

I got my rental car, which I paid $60 for a $20 rental (Thanks to CA state taxes / airport taxes) and OH! MINOR FEES =) I thought I was of age =\ Apparently… I still have three more years to be completely cut free from age restrictions (well, besides apply for presidency).

I drove to my hotel, in the dark so I didn’t really get to see my surroundings. However, when I woke up this morning and looked out my hotel balcony– this is what I saw:

I’ve never seen mountains in the same picture as palm trees, and although the clarity is not good (Since I took this from my phone) it really is beautiful =) Excited for my day.
